Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup cornstarch (for coating)
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Coat the chicken: Toss the sliced chicken in cornstarch until fully coated. Shake off excess.
- Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, then set aside on paper towels.

- Combine: Add the fried chicken back to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Let it cook for another 2 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over steamed rice.
Note: For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce!
