This Baked Apple Crumble with Oats is a comforting dessert that’s perfect for fall or any time you crave something sweet and cozy. The warm, spiced apples combined with the crunchy oat topping create a deliciously satisfying treat. It’s an easy-to-make, wholesome dessert that pairs perfectly with ice cream or on its own!
Ingredients
-
4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
-
1 cup rolled oats
-
1/2 cup flour (whole wheat or all-purpose)
-
1/3 cup brown sugar
-
1/2 cup butter (cold, cut into cubes)
-
1 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
-
In a bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then layer them evenly in the baking dish.
-
In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and cold butter cubes. Use your hands or a fork to blend until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
-
Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
-
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
NOTE 🙂
- For a healthier option, substitute coconut oil for butter and use a natural sweetener like honey or maple syrup in place of brown sugar.
