1 lb elbow macaroni or pasta of choice

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

2 cups whole milk

2 tbsp unsalted butter + 1 tbsp for topping

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Directions

Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter, stir in flour, and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened.

Stir in the cheeses until melted and smooth. Add cooked pasta and stir until well coated.

Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish or skillet. Top with breadcrumbs and drizzle with 1 tbsp melted butter.
