Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ cup breadcrumbs or almond flour (for low-carb)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat if pan-frying.
- In a large bowl, combine the meatball ingredients and mix well. Roll into 1-inch balls and arrange them on a baking sheet or skillet.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or pan-fry for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs cook, prepare the tzatziki by combining yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill. Mix well and chill.
- Serve the meatballs hot, accompanied by the tzatziki sauce. Garnish with extra dill and cucumber slices if desired
